This blog reflects the evolving views of Aston Kwok on Chinese politics, covering both domestic politics in China, Chinese foreign policies, as well as China's relations with Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan. There is a slight emphasis on translation of Chinese sources, thus making them accessible for non-Chinese readers, but there are also commentaries and analysis.
Aston Kwok is a part-time researcher in Chinese politics. He has a master degree in international relations from the University of New South Wales and a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) from the University of Sydney with a major in modern Chinese history. His research project for his master degree was on the role of Putin in the multilateral negotiations over Iran's nuclear program from 2005 to 2015. He has also presented talks on Sino-Israel relations in the light of the Belt and Road Initiative and tensions between US and China.
